About – Andrew is a farmer who coaches athletics as a hobby. He first became involved with LA’s when his first son joined up in the year 2000. Since then he has had 3 children join LA’s.
It wasn’t until his second son Angus, who became a competent athlete, that he commenced his coaching. In 2005, Andrew completed his Level 1 course at the Gold Coast and followed up with his Level 2 Course in 2006, also at the Gold Coast. His educator at both courses was Sharon Hannon, who at the time was Olympian Sally Pearson’s hurdling coach.
Since then Andrew has been involved with coaching at LA’s, private coaching, coaching at district and Sydney schools. He and Emma Kennedy now run their own coaching group called A&E Training. He has many successful athletes venture through to Zone, Regional, State and National representative levels.
Andrew’s passion is coaching sprints, hurdles and relays but is also qualified in all other track and field events.
What motivates Andrew is knowing his help in coaching children, is benefiting them to gain confidence in what they do and to continue striving for personal goals.
